With the winds high the past couple of days we were able to find a 4 hour window where we hauled b*** and as we hoped it paid off. Julio and Manny caught a dozen nice Mac's as well as some nice Grouper. *TIP* When the conditions don't allow for you to get out on the water check your gear. Make sure your guides on your rods are not bent or chipped which can cause for your line to break. If your in south tampa you can take your rods and reels to minnow and monsters to get repaired. Saturday's fishing trip consisted of a pleathura of desireable species. We had a day of grouper, snapper, and redfish. After catching grouper and snapper around structure by the Skyway bridge we moved to some close by sandbars and found some really nice redfish. We saw several sky-rocketing macs and even a few tarpon.

Hey Snookaholics, They Kings Have Arrived! This weekend was a blast. The Mac's are as big as i have ever seen and a lot of them to. Sat and Sunday we caught King;s Mac's and keeper Grouper. John and Albert did a great job Sunday catching over 30 Mac's and a half dozen nice King's. This was all done at the skyway. No need to run far Tampa Bay is providing all the fish you want to Catch. WOW This has been a great year. Good luck! Fish Hard Or Go Home! Capt. Alex

Sunday's outgoing tide was unforgettable. We rifled through about 4 dozen large size threadfin with some of the most prestine mangrove snapper fishing I have ever seen. These fish could not be caught on your typical flats rods. We found that the minimum tackle required for these fish was our tarpon rods (which consist of 50lb Braided), 50lb test leader, 4'O circle hooks. We would "nose hook" a thready and throw him right up on the rocks. The trick was to "open spool" your bait for a while and create arc in your line. This lowered your bait in the water column and allowed for these monster snapper to find it. They hit with incredible force, so even with the big arc in your line, you could feel the bite. Once they hit, you really had to hustle to get them in or they would pull you into the rocks and hang you up. For a good time, hit the outgoing tide at the span for some of the best mangrove snapper fishing that Florida has to offer.

Saturday was a pretty awsome day out on the water, even though we didn't get any snook. The weather was pretty tough, winds were picking up as the day went on and the tide was bottomed out. We took it out to the middle of the bay in search of trout/jacks/whatever. We immediately started with the trout bite and it did not stop. We caught about 50 trout, many of which were keepers. Some of which were 25 inchers. Mark, Lorie, Billy, and Nancy, thanks for a good time and I hope to see you all again soon. Thanks!

Thursday afternoon delight. Thursdays are a great time to be on the water. The bay has been quiet for 4 days and not many people have off work on Thursdays. Typically, the bay is yours.... and so are the fish. Dwain and I posted up on a little island (Thursday) at around 3:30pm. About two handfulls of chummers made their way from my livewell to the target area. "POPS" started up almost immediately. Dwain did us the honor of starting this wonderful 20-30 snook showdown that lasted for about 3 hours, by hooking up with the first fish. Most of them were shorts (24"-26"- See photo gallery), but we are convinced we hooked several big boys that spit the hook. The fish were on fire at the end of the outgoing tide...beggining of incoming tide. Once the incoming tide was in full force, they shut off. Another Banner Snook Day in Tampa Bay!
