Snookaholics Anonymous Story

From the beginning, the Snookaholic’s founders shared similar childhoods. Since we were boys, we spent mostly everyday sneaking beyond our parent-set parameters in search of bodies of water that might have a fish in them (even though we knew we would catch hell from mom and dad if we got caught!). To us, the risk of punishment was well worth it. As we arrived to our set destination, we would already be removing the fishing poles from our handle bars before our bikes even stopped. Racing to be the first one to get our lure in the water, our kickstands never saw much ground. This went on everyday for years. Needless to say, by the time we were teenagers and could legally work to afford our own boats, we were highly-skilled in our land fishing capabilities.

When we took our land-lubber experience and combined it with a set of newly acquired sea-legs we transformed to pirates. Real, true-life pirates. Not the bad-mannered and unruly pirates that are in search of booty, you know treasure , but the type of pirates that lived to be out on the water. The local marine patrol knew us by name and looked past us as though we were a buoy. Our teenage years consisted of many two to three day fishing excursions where our feet didn’t touch land for those periods of time. Only coming to shore to get gas for the boat or maybe a bite to eat, we would sleep on the live well with a “bait-clicker” set on our reels as an alarm clock. I hate to say it, but we were hard core addicts.

None of us have really lost our craving to live like this, but we all have been caged by work and the need to make a living. Now that our freedoms aren’t as readily available, it is even harder for us. This is the reason we started Snookaholics Anonymous. This is for the people who are living with this incurable fishing addiction. This is for people just like you!
